Kate Philbin - Writer and Business Communications ConsultantAfter gaining an Upper Second Class Degree in English Language and Literature at the University of Liverpool, Kate Philbin entered the advertising industry as a Creative Copywriter.
She joined one of the UK's top 30 agencies, creating a national TV advertisement for Thorntons and an award-winning press campaign for Epson Computers. In the early 90s, she moved into public relations, working on accounts such as Chivers Hartley, Vileda and West Midlands Travel.
She set up her own company in 1993 and has since gained a reputation as a sought-after writer and communications consultant. Her work can be seen regularly in national home interest magazines such as Period House, HomeStyle, Essential Kitchen Bathroom Bedroom and Your Home, for whom she writes on interiors and reclamation.
Among the many forms of commercial communications in which Kate specialises are press releases, magazines, newsletters, websites, brochures, advertisements, direct mail and corporate publications.
Her clients include: Advantage West Midlands, Avon Cosmetics, British Chambers of Commerce International, British Waterways, Intec Business Colleges and National College for School Leadership. She has an extensive portfolio and many excellent references.
When she's not slaving away at her computer, Kate restores properties and gypsy caravans, sings (badly!) and writes for children. She is also a fully qualified Clinical Hypnotherapist.
